We are always looking for new lab members!

Our active projects center on the ideas highlighted in the Annual Review, also check our publication in Trends in Genetics, Trends in Microbiology, as well as JACS. Currently, our focus is on reconstructing the evolutionary history of select enzymes and connecting these trajectories to planetary evolution. Our Values

Anyone who pays attention to fine details and is committed to describing them in a way that everyone else can understand is a scientist. The ultimate teacher and the final say in all our discussions is the natural world. We are humbled by the fact and the realization that we may never have a complete understanding of the full scope of biological phenomenon. The work we do and the knowledge we uncover is for the service and benefit of all people everywhere.

We expect all lab members to:

  • Have the courage to allow natural phenomena to shape their thoughts and opinions in light of new data

  • Become an effective judge of what data are salient

  • Foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and camaraderie for all lab members regardless of their background or level of experience
